Simple Ribbed Beanie Pattern (Fingering Weight Version) - KNIT

Ribbed Beanie Knitting Pattern

This ribbed beanie is a perfect project for keeping you warm and stylish in cold weather. It is knitted in the round using fingering weight yarn, creating a cozy and comfortable hat.

Materials:

  • Yarn: Tina's Toasty Toes Sock Fingering weight yarn in your choice of color (approx. 200 yards) or Any Other Tina's Toasty Toes fingering weight yarn.
  • Needles: US 2 / UK 11 / 2.75mm circular needles with a 16-inch cable, and US 2 / UK 11 / 2.75mm double-pointed needles
  • Tapestry needle
  • Stitch marker

Gauge:

32 stitches & 40 rows = 4 inches in 1x1 ribbing

Instructions:

  1. Using the circular needles, cast on 144 stitches. Join in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches. Place marker at the beginning of the round.
  2. Round 1-10: *K1, P1; repeat from * around.
  3. Continue in 1x1 ribbing until the hat measures approximately 8 inches from the cast-on edge.
  4. Decrease rounds:
    1. *K2tog, P2; repeat from * around.
    2. *K1, P2; repeat from * around.
    3. *K2tog, P1; repeat from * around.
    4. *K2tog; repeat from * around.
    5. Cut yarn, leaving a tail. Thread yarn through remaining stitches and pull tight to close the top.
  5. Weave in ends and block the hat to shape.
