Fingering Weight Lace Shawl Pattern
This beginner-friendly shawl pattern is perfect for using up a single skein of fingering weight yarn. With delicate lace elements, it's a beautiful accessory for any season.
Materials
- Yarn: Fingering weight yarn, 1 skein (approximately 400 yards/100 grams)
- Needles: US 6 (4 mm) straight or circular needles
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Gauge
20 stitches x 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch
Instructions
- Cast on 3 stitches.
- Row 1: Knit all stitches.
- Row 2: K1, yo, knit to end of row.
- Repeat Row 2 until you have reached desired size or almost run out of yarn, ending with a wrong side row.
- Next row: K1, yo, k1, yo, knit to end of row.
- Next row: K1, purl to last st, k1.
- Repeat these 2 rows until you have just enough yarn left to bind off.
- Bind off all stitches knitwise.
- Weave in ends and block your shawl to open up the lace pattern.
