Chunky Two-Color Cowl
This cozy cowl is perfect for chilly days and quick enough to make as a last-minute gift.
Materials
- Tina's Toasty Toes Chunky weight yarn in 2 colors (Toasty Punta Arenas Chunky, Toasty Alpaca Merino Nylon Chunky, and Toasty Merino Chunky are all great options!), approximately 200 yards of main color, 100 yards of contrast color.
US size 10 (6 mm) / UK size 4 / Metric size 6 mm knitting needles

14 stitches and 20 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch
Instructions
- Using the contrast color, cast on 100 stitches.
- Join to work in the round, being careful not to twist your stitches. Place a marker to denote the beginning of the round.
- Round 1: *K1, p1; repeat from * to end of round.
- Repeat Round 1 until the piece measures 4 inches (10 cm) from the cast on edge.
- Switch to the second color yarn, cutting the contrast color and leaving a long tail to weave in.
- Continue in *K1, P1 ribbing* until the cowl measures 8 inches (25 cm) from the cast on edge.
- Cut the main color and attach the contrast color again. Leave long tails to weave in.
- Continue in *K1, P1 ribbing for another four inches, making the unblocked cowl a total of 12 inches long.
- Bind off in pattern.
- Weave in ends and block lightly.
