About Tina's Toasty Toes
Hi Fiber Friends!
I am Christina - or Tina for short- and I am the owner of Tina's Toasty Toes. I started out crocheting slipper socks for friends and family, then started a small Etsy store, before treating myself to a yarn dyeing class in London, England for my 40th birthday in 2018. As soon as I dyed my first skein, I was hooked (pun intended). Shortly thereafter I learned to knit, and now I dye up yarn for knitters and crocheters in my spare time. I have a full time job working in insurance on top of dyeing yarn. The name of my shop came from a friend's suggestion when I was making slipper socks, and since I dye mainly sock and fingering weight yarns, I kept the name for my dyeing business as well, and have fully given up on trying to sell things on Etsy.
All of my yarn is dyed in my home on Long Island, in New York, USA. My home is smoke-free and cat-friendly, but the yarn is dyed away from the cat and stored in sealed plastic storage bags until it is sold. I sell primarily online, but also sell at trunk shows and fiber festivals whenever I can.
All of the yarn I sell is hand dyed or hand painted in small batches. I specialize in luxury yarn bases, including yak blends, alpaca blends, bamboo blends, and wool blends, but I carry the basics too. I also carry gifts for knitters, crocheters, weavers, and spinners in the form of project bags, tote bags, mugs, enamel pins, and more.
I make sure I know where my yarn is sourced from, and I pledge to only source mulesing-free and cruelty-free yarn.
I also believe very strongly that Black Lives Matter, Women's Rights are Human Rights, No Human is Illegal, Science is Real, Love is Love, and Kindness is Everything.
Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check out the rest of the site! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me through the messenger link on the bottom of the home page, or use the contact link above for more information.
